Returns, Resales & Circularity Policy

At Articles In Common, every item we sell has already had a life before you — and we want it to have many more after. That’s why we focus on resale, repair, and reuse instead of traditional returns.

Final Sale Items

  • Vintage, outdoor gear, and apparel are final sale and non-refundable.
  • Sale items are final sale. Regular-priced items only are eligible for refund if they arrive damaged or not as described.
  • This policy is clearly displayed here and at checkout, as required by California law.

WildUp & WildUp+ Members

  • Members may return eligible outdoor gear and apparel in reusable condition for store credit — or choose to re-list the item through our marketplace to earn cash or credit.


If Something Isn’t Right

  • If an item is damaged, defective, or not as described, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos. We’ll work with you on a repair, replacement, or refund in line with California consumer protection laws.


Keep Gear in Play

Instead of returning gear you no longer want, we encourage:

  1. Reselling it through us — We’ll handle the listing, promotion, and sale.
  2. Donating it through us — We’ll pass it on to outdoor nonprofits or community programs.
    This way, your gear stays in circulation and continues to protect the wild.


Shipping Costs

  • All shipping charges are non-refundable.
  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error.
  • We recommend using a trackable service — we cannot guarantee receipt without tracking.
